Conscia previously relied on Excel for its budgeting and forecasting processes. By implementing Planacy, the company has reduced manual work, minimised the risk of errors and created a more flexible process – allowing more time to focus on analysis.
“With Planacy, we now have a solution that enables us to spend less time preparing budgets, forecasts and plans, while spending more time understanding the numbers. It’s very easy to immediately see the impact of changes in our assumptions,” says Erik Törnsén, CFO at Conscia.
Over time, the Excel-based solution became difficult to maintain and lacked flexibility. Before implementing Planacy, Conscia used internally developed templates that were submitted to the finance department for consolidation. Updating assumptions and analysing the effects of changes in the Excel model was time-consuming, and the process also carried a significant risk of manual errors.
“Our process has improved significantly with Planacy. We moved from using internal reporting templates – which were both inflexible and prone to manual errors – to a solution where users can easily access the system and work with predefined templates. This has also reduced the risk of manual mistakes. We can now open and close scenarios in a controlled way,” Erik Törnsén continues.
The goal of implementing Planacy was to establish a more reliable solution with fewer manual steps, while also freeing up more time for analysis and follow-up. In the near future, the plan is also to integrate Planacy with Power BI so that the information can be visualised there as well. Today, this data import is handled manually.
