Planacy appoints their current Cheif Revenue Officer as the new CEO when Jimmy Stenqvist Evegård leaves the role on his own initiative after over 6 years.

"I am leaving at a time when we, with a new captain at the helm, can continue the exciting journey we have ahead of us," says Jimmy Stenqvist Evegård.

The Swedish SaaS company Planacy, which offers a leading platform for data-driven financial planning and analysis, has been led by Jimmy Stenqvist Evegård since 2018. During this time, the company, its structure, processes and organization have been shaped. They have developed a strong product offering and created a capital-efficient company with a turnover of over SEK 40 million and positive EBITDA. Now, Stenqvist Evegård will soon leave the role of CEO, to instead continue on in a new supporting role on the board.

“This journey with Planacy is the most fun I’ve ever had. I love the company and the strong culture we have created together as a team! We have navigated challenges and successfully executed the necessary strategic moves to continually create momentum and ensure long-term success. Together, we have created a great company and my focus going forward is to create the best possible conditions for the new CEO and the company to make Planacy even stronger in the future”, Stenqvist Evegård says.

Stenqvist Evegård joined Planacy a few months into the company's journey in 2016, first as Chief Operating Officer until two years later when he took on the role as CEO. For over six years, he has since successfully worked to steer Planacy and its development in the right direction. In recent years, the company has shown a strong average growth of 42% and today it has 24 employees, close to 200 customers and work both with partners and direct sales.

"I want to offer our gratitude to Jimmy for his outstanding effort and commitment as CEO. His leadership has been crucial in making Planacy the fine scalable SaaS company that we are today, and we are happy to have him as a committed shareholder and board member moving forward," says Stina Treven, Chairman of the Board of Planacy AB.

Planacy's new CEO will be the company's current Chief Revenue Officer Erik Gidlund. With his background and experience in delivery, sales and marketing, both from the partner side of things and SaaS, Erik has the necessary width and specific competence that the position requires.

"On behalf of the board, I would like to warmly welcome Erik as CEO. Erik brings impressive skills, and we look forward to an exciting future under his leadership and are convinced that he will continue to build on the strong foundation Jimmy and the team have created," Treven continues.

Gidlund began his career at Exsitec (then Millnet BI) where he worked as a solution architect and delivery manager for the company's Planacy team before being appointed as sales and marketing manager. Since 2022, Erik has worked at Planacy, primarily as Chief Revenue Officer, where he has been highly involved in the company's continued development.

"It is a great honor to have the opportunity to lead the competent team at Planacy and I thank the board for their confidence. Jimmy has done great and important work in creating the structures and conditions that allow us to continue our journey towards 100 million ARR and beyond. With the help of the strong foundation we have built in recent years, I look forward to, together with our entrepreneurial and driven team, continuing to push Planacy's development forward and take the company to the next level!", says Erik Gidlund, who takes over as CEO in November.
